Holiday Happenings

What a fun December we had! From our Polar Express Day to our first Kindergarten Winter Program to the Grinch party....we were busy as we celebrated a fun start to the holidays in lots of ways! Five Senses

We've had a fun week talking about the five senses and even enjoyed a taste test. Students tried bitter, sweet, salty, and sour foods and picked their favorite. Our morning class surprised us by choosing sour as their favorite and the afternoon choose salty.

On Friday our morning class enjoyed an ice cream party thanks to the PTA. Our AM class had the highest percentage of membership in the PTA! Thanks for your support!

Next week we will learn about the importance of Veterans Day as well as continue comparing numbers to five. Be sure to check back to see all the fun happening in Kindergarten at LME!

Evans Orchard and Party Pics Galore!

Kindergarten sure is a busy place! This week we've explored pumpkins, took a field trip to Evan's Orchard and had a fall party! It's been a fun filled week and here are the pictures to prove it! Enjoy!

Apples all around and Kentucky Kids Day

Apples, apples, everywhere!

From taste testing different types of apples to making apple prints, we had a blast learning more about this delicious fruit this past week. Students traveled to all of the kindergarten classes for different mini lesson on apples. Everyone loved it so much we're planning another day focusing on pumpkins later in October.

After reading The Seasons of Arnolds Apple Tree, we did an art project showing the seasons of our own apple tree. This was a fun project!

We also had our first set of students to show mastery of sight words and earn a gumball! Keep practicing those sight words! :)

Friday was Kentucky Kids Day at LME. We sadly didn't get a PM class pic, but a big THANK YOU to our PTA for providing our cute shirts! Remember to wear this shirt to our field trip next week! Of course Friday brought two new mystery readers!
